Pinterest - Pinteresting results

So I thought I would try something new today and if you all like it I'll do it more often.

I have a Pinterest account.  I really enjoy looking at photos of nature, getting great decorating and recipe ideas, and seeing new crafting techniques.  Do you have a Pinterest account? Do you pin all this great stuff, but rarely do anything with the pins?  Do you try any of the recipes? Try any of the new craft techniques?

I'm not a complete dud.  I do some of the things I pin, but I really would like to do more and this may be a way to accomplish that.  So I thought I would choose a pin every once in a while and do it (whatever it may be) and then let you know how it worked out here on my Blog.

So my first "Pinteresting result" was on a pin I tried yesterday.
This original Pin came from Alex in Arizona from Tumblr.

I have a board called "Work out your Stress" where I pin different workouts I want to try.  I have never tried ANY of them until yesterday when I tried out this little beauty.

I went through the circuit 3 times while wearing my heart rate monitor.  I will admit that I could not do a Wall sit for a whole minute.  I got about 35 seconds and then could not hold it any more.  It took me about 27 min, to do the whole thing 3 times and I burned about 220 calories, and was sweating pretty good when I was done.

Today I am really feeling it!  My legs and arms are hurting which tells me that I worked some new muscles other than the ones I work while spinning.  I would definitely do this again, but I don't think I can do the Burpees as my back is hurting a bit today.  If you're looking for something quick that will produce results if you do it on a regular basis, I would recommend giving this workout a try.

If you'd like to see any of my other boards on Pinterest just follow me there at Heathers Meadow.  You'll find many pins relating to Tranquility, Relieving Stress, and living a more peaceful life.

Peace Out  : )

Discover me Wednesday 3/6/13

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I found a totally cool shop on ETSY this week that you are just going to love!

I stumbled on "This Word's for you" when searching for Christian items on Etsy. I was immediately drawn to this exceptionally unique jewelry.  The shop owner Rachael Simin Baroumand is from Colorado Springs and has had this lovely shop open since October of 2009.

Rachael believes that "The power of the word can make or break you!"
In her shop announcements page she quotes Isaiah 55:11 which reads; "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."  She also quotes Hebrews 4:12 which reads in part; "For the word of God is loving and active."

This bold shop owner also believes that repeating your favorite scriptures throughout your days will create lives that are transformed, and that it will help you to be content in ALL circumstances no matter what you are going through!-Philippians 4:11-13.

There are many items ready to be sold as is, but Rachael takes custom orders as well if you have a particular scripture that has special meaning to you or that you would like to give as a gift to someone else.

Be sure to check out this fantastic shop today and pick up something totally unique for yourself or to give as a gift to someone you love.

A Stress Free Breakfast

I know I said that I would share recipes with you on this blog so this morning I am going to share with you an super stress free breakfast that is also healthy.

Okay so at first glance you're probably looking at this photo and saying to yourself... "Are those M & M's on that?"  We'll technically they are NOT M&M's, according to the package they are "Candy coated chocolate pieces".
What can I say? I love to have a bit of sweet in the morning, and in my defense the package does say "Simple, Wholesome, Delicious" on it.

In all seriousness I must confess that 3 years ago I was way overweight for my comfort and I began "spinning" at my local gym. Spinning; in case you didn't know is cycling on a stationary bike with other folks while listening to music.   I also became much more aware of what I was eating, and within a year I had lost 35 pounds and was down to the weight I was when I was in High-school.

What I learned was that I could eat most if the things I still loved as long as I did it in moderation along with a regular work out routine. So my stress free breakfast recipe is this:

1 piece of fruit (I usually choose Honeycrisp apple or banana)
1 container (6 oz.) of Greek yogurt
and 1/4 cup of your favorite trail mix

Simply layer it in a bowl like a parfait and there you have it. A simple stress free breakfast.
The calories in this breakfast are about 400 and would be less with the apple.

I typically eat this after my workout. I hope you like the idea and look forward to hearing what you all think.

A frosty Love note

A few years ago I woke one cold morning to frost on my window.  Normally I wouldn't give it a second glance but as I got in the car and started it up I saw this.....

It was as if in the night God decided to leave me a little love note.  Enjoy your day everyone and look for God's love notes to you in unexpected places.

These are just a few other shots of the frost that I took that morning.

Dicover me Wednesday 2/27/13

It's been a while since I featured a shop on this segment of my Blog, but it was so fun getting back into the swing of finding just the right artist to feature.

After doing quite a bit of "window shopping" on ETSY I happened upon a shop that carries really cool natural stone stamped coasters as well as other handmade items and Vintage goods.

Freckle is owned by Jamie Schmid from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  Her 4x4 Tumbled Travertine Tiles are hand stamped and would make a great gift for all kinds of occasions. Each set she sells, has rubber grips on the bottom to prevent scratching and sliding. They have also been sealed to make them durable.  Another great thing about this shop is that Jamie takes custom orders for the coasters.
$15 for a set of 4
This shop has been open since August of 2007 and has over 300 sales with 100% feedback.  Stop into Freckle and wander around a bit.  You may just find  the perfect gift or something that would look great in your home.

You can also follow Freckle- Vintage & Handmade Goods on Pinterest, Facebook and Blogspot by following these links:

Every Season

Welcome back readers.  I thought it might be fun every once in a while to share songs that bring me peace with you.  Of course I'd love to hear about songs that do the same for you.  Today I'd like to share a song by Nicole Nordeman called "Every Season" that I love.

This song not only washes over me with a peaceful feeling, but there is so much truth in it.  Ecclesiastes 3:1 says "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven".  Like this songs says....with every season, the Lord makes us new, changes us, molds us, uses us, grows us, and guides us to be more like Him.  Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring.....I can't wait to see what He has in store for me in this next season.

Enjoy the song.
